The bathing area is located 150 metres north of the Idrovora pump station in Nova Siri, in the Basilicata region of Italy. The surrounding area is not populated by urban settlements but by structures connected to tourist activities, where users concentrate mainly during the summer season. The bathing station operates during the official swimming season from May to September.

Coastal bathing area in the Ionian Sea.

Location

Nova Siri, Matera Province, Basilicata region, Italy. The sampling point is situated 150 metres north of the Idrovora di Nova Siri pump station at coordinates 40.130590, -16.662794. The bathing area extends from coordinates 40.128562, -16.659401 to 40.131570, -16.663847.

Season

Monitoring period: 1 April – 30 September. Official bathing season: 1 May – 30 September.

Water Quality

Water quality classification based on monitoring data from 2017–2020. Monthly sampling was conducted during the monitoring period. No bathing bans were issued during the 2020 swimming season.
