Międzyzdroje Zachód is a sea bathing area on the Baltic Sea coast in western Poland, located west of the pier in Międzyzdroje. The beach has a shoreline of 600 metres and is officially open from June 15 to September 15 each year. The bathing area is monitored regularly for water quality and offers multiple facilities including lifeguards, showers, and disabled access.

Location

Międzyzdroje, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Kamień County. Located 600 metres west of the pier, with access near Cicha Street. Organised by Gmina Międzyzdroje.

Facilities

Lifeguard station with WOPR flag mast, designated swimming zone in water, Blue Flag certification, toilets, showers, changing rooms, waste bins, disabled access, children's beach area, pet ban, information board, beach regulations available for review.

Season

Official season 15 June 2025 to 15 September 2025. Operating hours 10:00 to 18:00.

Water Quality

Water quality classification for 2025 is excellent. Monitoring shows E. coli and Enterococci levels typically well below regulatory limits (maximum permissible concentrations: E. coli 1000 jtk(NPL)/100 ml, Enterococci 400 jtk(NPL)/100 ml). Water rated suitable for bathing on most test dates. Historical closures due to cyanobacteria blooms recorded in July and August 2025, and July 2018. One closure in August 2022 due to elevated E. coli and Enterococci levels.

Risks

Cyanobacteria blooms recorded on 24 July 2025 and 9 August 2025, causing temporary water unsuitability. Elevated bacterial levels possible during heavy weather or after heavy rainfall events.
