Coastal bathing water on the Atlantic coast of Brittany. The site experiences tidal conditions with current direction and strength varying by tide stage (neap and spring tides). Wind direction and strength are predominantly from the west-northwest.

Location

Tréflez, Brittany, France (29430). The beach has three access points: West, Centre, and East, with parking available at the West access point.

Three beach access points (West, Centre, East) with signage. West access includes parking. Equipped recreational activities available. Bird sanctuary reserve signs present on site.

Water Quality

In 2021, bathing waters were classified as excellent quality. Bacteriological monitoring by ARS (Regional Health Agency) from 2011 to 2021 shows enterococci and E. coli concentrations tracked over this period. The water maintains Type 1 profile classification with no proven pollution risk. Pollution sources identified include individual sewage systems, stormwater runoff, and agricultural activities in the catchment area.

Sensitivity to green algae (ulva) accumulation recorded. Shellfish harvesting zones (conchylicolture) located near the beach. Recreational shellfish harvesting areas identified nearby. Jellyfish presence noted.
