Kiesteich - Metel is an excavated lake located northwest of Hannover between Metel and Averhoy, surrounded by the Auterniederung landscape conservation area. Swimming is permitted at the site without lifeguard supervision upon payment of entry to the adjacent Tannenbruchsee campground. The water body features a meadow for sunbathing with shaded areas and a children's adventure playground.
