The Bürgerseen in Talwald is an important recreation area for the Kirchheim population and surrounding communities. Swimming, ice skating, and model boat racing without combustion engines are permitted at the Untersee. It receives surface inflows from the upper and middle lakes, has a maximum depth of 4 metres, and a visibility depth of less than 1 metre.
