Köpingebukten is a large bay approximately 1.5 km long located on the western coast of Öland. The bathing area lies in the municipality of Borgholm in the settlement of Köpingsvik and attracts more than 200 swimmers per day. The beach consists of a sandy strip approximately 350 m long and 15–20 m wide, with low to medium-high grass vegetation on low sand dunes behind it. The water bottom is sandy and initially exposed at low tide, making the swimming area very shallow.
