Plage aval du Pont d'Arc is a bathing area located downstream of the Pont d'Arc natural arch formation in the Ardèche river. The site is part of the Grand Site du Pont d'Arc development project and is managed by EPTB Ardèche. Water quality monitoring has been conducted from 2015 to 2018, with analysis of bacteriological parameters and pollution episodes related to rainfall and discharge events.

Water

The Ardèche river. Mean annual interannual discharge varies monthly, with measurements recorded at the Vallon Pont d'Arc hydrological station. Water temperature during summer bathing season was monitored with recorded values presented in surveillance data.

Water Quality

Water quality classification data from 2015 to 2018 is available. Bacteriological monitoring (E. coli and enterococci) was conducted according to health code article D.1332-15. Analysis shows correlation between rainfall, discharge rates, and bacteriological contamination. Pollution episodes occurred during wet weather events and are detailed in surveillance reports for each year from 2015 to 2018.

Cyanobacteria proliferation is identified as a potential risk. Pollution episodes are linked to rainfall events and increased river discharge. Bacteriological contamination varies with hydrological conditions.
