Water

Water Quality

Water quality classification follows the 2006 EU Directive system. Bacteriological quality has been monitored since 2013. Historical water quality data from 2013 to 2023 is available. The beach has experienced occasional episodes of degraded or moderate water quality linked to environmental variables and the sanitation system. Potential pollution sources include collective sewerage discharges and stormwater runoff.

Risks

Potential pollution from collective sanitation system discharges during rainfall events. Risk of green algae (ulva) accumulation, with limited deposits observed at the base of ramparts as of May 2024. Stormwater discharge systems pose potential pollution risk during rainfall.
