Saint-Malo, France. The beach is one of the official bathing beaches in the city of Saint-Malo. A rescue post is installed at the top of the beach during the summer season. An information panel and waste bin are located near the main access point.

Water Quality

Water quality has been monitored since 1979. Historical data from 1979–2012 was assessed under the 1976 Directive classification system, with updated assessments from 2013 onwards using the 2006 Directive classification. The beach is monitored for bacteriological quality of bathing water. Potential for macro-algae and phytoplankton proliferation has been evaluated. A quality classification panel is displayed at the beach.

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified include wastewater discharge systems, stormwater networks, and agricultural activities in the surrounding area. Macro-algae and phytoplankton proliferation potential has been assessed. Episodes of water quality degradation linked to the wastewater system have been documented.
