La Hougue is a bathing beach located in the commune of Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue in the Manche department of France. The beach is subject to water quality monitoring under European bathing water directives. The area experiences tidal influences and is affected by various hydrological features including several watercourses (Godey, Bis Fontaine, Vaupreux, and Bonde) and coastal discharges.

Water quality monitoring conducted under European Directive 2006/7/CE. Historical monitoring data includes bacterial indicators of fecal contamination. Classification assessments performed under both the previous Directive 76/160/CEE and the newer Directive 2006/7/CE.

Risks

Potential pollution sources include domestic wastewater from collective and non-collective sewerage systems, stormwater discharges from multiple basins, agricultural activities, artisanal and industrial activities, port and mooring zones, and camping facilities. Four watercourses (Godey, Bis Fontaine, Vaupreux, Bonde) discharge into the area.
