Plage de la Pissotte is a bathing beach located in Saint-Cast le Guildo, a commune in Côtes d'Armor department in Brittany, France. The beach faces Fresnaye Bay, situated between Saint-Brieuc Bay to the west and Arguenon Bay to the east. The beach is characterized by a macrotidal regime with tidal ranges of 10.55 metres in spring tides and 5 metres in neap tides. The area experiences an oceanic climate with weak seasonal variations and moderate wave conditions, with 83% of significant wave heights below 1 metre during summer.

Marine coastal bathing water in Fresnaye Bay. Macrotidal regime with spring tide range of 10.55 metres and neap tide range of 5 metres. Coastal current speeds near the beach generally do not exceed 0.2 m/s. Dominant summer waves are from the north-northwest sector with 83% of significant wave heights below 1 metre and 98% below 2 metres.

Location

Saint-Cast le Guildo is located approximately 49 km from Saint-Brieuc and 32 km from Dinan in Côtes d'Armor, Brittany. The beach is oriented towards Fresnaye Bay.

Water Quality

Type 1 bathing profile (Type 1 profile). Microbiological water quality is monitored. The profile identifies potential contamination sources and assesses bacteriological water quality at the bathing area.

Risks

Potential macroalgae proliferation and phytoplankton proliferation have been assessed. Potential pollution sources related to sanitation, diffuse pollution, and agricultural activities have been identified and documented.
