Lago Laprello

Germany Lake 1 - Excellent

Lago Laprello is an artificial bathing lake created from gravel extraction, located in the Heinsberg district. The lake covers 29 hectares with sandy substrate and sandy geology. It features a layered water body with a mean depth of 15 metres and maximum depth of 25 metres. The lake received an excellent water quality rating for all four years from 2020 to 2023.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: excellent (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023). No relevant pollution sources identified. Cyanobacteria blooms observed in recent years caused by prolonged warm and hot periods in summer, but no future danger anticipated. No experience data available for macroalgae, fadenalgae, or future phytoplankton mass development risk is assessed as low. No sediment contamination identified.

Cyanobacteria blooms observed in recent years. Cercariae present (causes swimmer's dermatitis), though detailed experience data is limited. Frequent waterfowl present with potential aquatic effects. Medium fish stock present.
