Le Lac De Chérapont

Belgium Lake 1 - Excellent

The Lac de Chérapont at Gouvy is an officially designated bathing zone established on 25 October 1990, situated at an altitude of 435 metres. The lake covers 1.6 hectares with a sandy and silty bottom and natural banks with herbaceous vegetation. Water depth ranges from 0.20 metres to 2 metres maximum, with a beach length of 42 metres.

Water Quality

Bathing water quality is monitored by the Direction Générale opérationnelle Agriculture, Ressources naturelles et Environnement (DGARNE). An information panel installed since 2008 displays bacteriological quality status and bathing authorization/prohibition. Historical compliance data and bacteriological parameters are documented.
