Le Lac De Coucouron

France Lake 1 - Excellent

The Coucouron lake is an artificial reservoir on the Montvieux stream, situated approximately 500 metres west of the village centre in the commune of Coucouron. The bathing area is located on the left bank of the lake and offers recreational facilities including a beach, water slide, and water jets for children. A qualified lifeguard supervises the bathing area from mid-July to the end of August.

Water

An artificial lake (dam) on the Montvieux stream. The bathing zone is located on the left bank. The catchment basin has a slope of approximately 11%.

Location

Approximately 500 metres west of the centre of Coucouron, in the Ardèche department (07). The bathing zone is on the left bank of the lake. Parking and facilities for camper vans are available at the site.

Facilities

Lifeguard supervision from mid-July to end of August, beach, water slide, water jets for children, accessible fishing pontoon (ponton handipêche), snack bar, camper van reception area.

Season

Mid-July to end of August.

Water Quality

The bathing water is classified as type 1 under Directive 2006/7/CE, indicating that the risk of water pollution is not established. Simulated water quality classification shows the water to be of sufficient, good, or excellent quality based on microbiological monitoring results from the four preceding bathing seasons.
