The Turbine Beach swimming area is located on the Lignon river, an upstream tributary of the Ardèche, in the municipality of Jaujac. The Lignon is 20.7 km long, originating near the Col de la Croix de Bauzon and joining the Ardèche at Meyras. The site is situated in a region with mountain landscapes, characteristic villages, geological features including basalt columns, and is part of the UNESCO Global Geopark of the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Natural Park.
