Location

Tropea, Calabria, in the area facing the town centre of Tropea. The bathing area covers 1,501 square metres.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. Monitoring is conducted by Regione Calabria, Comune, ASP, 118, and Arpacal. The depuration facility is located at Parghelia (Depuratore di Parghelia Loc. Le Grazie). No specific mitigation measures are currently active.

Risks

The mouth of Torrente Le Grazie is identified as a potential source of pollution. Short-duration pollution events have been characterized as accidental treatment plant failures and overflow from the Parghelia depuration facility. Cyanobacterial proliferation has not been verified in the past four years. Macroalgae and phytoplankton proliferation has not been verified in the past four years.
