Waldsee is located at the eastern, forested edge of Hämelerwald within the Hainwald landscape protection area. The lake is densely overgrown with aquatic plants. The bathing beach is situated on the northern shore of the lake. Access to the lake on the campground premises is free, and parking is available at no cost.
