Plage des Aresquiers is a wild, sandy beach located in the northeastern part of Frontignan La Peyrade's coastline in the Hérault department. The beach comprises a vast shoreline composed of sand and shells, with fine dune sand shaped by strong winds. It features a gentle slope and benefits from minimal human modification, retaining a natural and wild appearance with only parking areas and circulation routes nearby.

Water

Mediterranean Sea bathing zone extending 350 meters around a coastal protection barrier. Beach width varies between 30 and 50 meters. The bathing zone has gentle slope. Water depths offshore range from 10-20 meters near shore to 50-200 meters further out.

Location

Frontignan La Peyrade, Hérault department, Mediterranean coast. The beach is located in the northeastern part of the commune's 7 km coastline, near the wastewater treatment plant (lagunage). Parking areas are available.

Facilities

Mechanical beach cleaning performed once weekly during bathing season (twice weekly for most frequented beaches). Water quality information boards present.

Season

Official bathing season monitoring conducted. Profile established January 2015.

Water Quality

Classified as Type 1 profile with risk of pollution not confirmed. Water quality assessed as sufficient, good, or excellent according to Directive 2006/7/CE based on results from the four previous bathing seasons. Monitoring program established by ARS (Agence Régionale de Santé).

Risks

Potential pollution sources include wastewater network overflow, pollution from offshore, from the lagoon, and from the canal. Cyanobacteria episodes, jellyfish invasions, green algae proliferation, and oil deposits monitored. Flood risk assessed.
