Levante Foce Torrente Letimbro is a predominantly sandy beach in front of Savona's urban centre in Liguria, Italy. The beach extends over 0.251 km and is located in a river mouth area. It received an Excellent classification for the four-year period 2019–2022. The beach features private establishments, free beach areas, hospitality facilities, and dining options, with the Tobagi seafront promenade, a municipal swimming pool, and the railway station nearby.

Coastal water body at the mouth of the Letimbro torrent (T.Letimbro). Area of 0.251 km. Part of the Ligurian Sea, characterized by oligotrophic conditions.

Water Quality

Water quality classification for 2019–2022: Excellent. The Savona wastewater treatment plant discharges via submarine pipelines approximately 1.2–1.5 km away from the sampling station. No coastal treatment plants are located within the bathing water itself.

Risks

During heavy precipitation, increased torrent flow from the Letimbro may transport sewage downstream. The river mouth directly affects the bathing water. Ostreopsis ovata microalgae blooms have been observed in Liguria over the past decade; however, the reference monitoring station at Noli showed no exceedances of the 30,000 cells/litre threshold during 2019–2023. Inhalation of aerosol from Ostreopsis ovata can cause temporary respiratory irritation and fever in sensitive individuals.
