Coastal waters. Beach area extends 1.405 square kilometres. Average seabed slope of 1.3% from the waterline to the 5-metre isobat. Pebbly beach with medium-to-coarse sediments (grain size greater than 2 mm). Single submarine bars or ridges present.

Location

Amendolara, province of Cosenza, Calabria region. The bathing area is situated in front of agricultural lands between the Fosso Teli stream and the town centre.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as excellent. Identified pollution sources include runoff from the Fosso Teli, Fosso Taviano, and Canale della Donna watercourses, stemming from agricultural areas and urban areas. No specific management measures are currently in place.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events occur due to runoff from agricultural and urban areas. No cyanobacterial or algal blooms have been recorded in the past four years.
