Lido Spina is a sandy beach of significant tourist interest located 200 m south of Canale Logonovo. It forms part of a homogeneous 5.7 km stretch of coast bounded to the north by Porto Canale di Porto Garibaldi and to the south by Canale Bellocchio. The beach has no protective barriers and is situated in an area of high tourist use with numerous hotels and beach facilities.

Water

Coastal marine water in a flat alluvial area with high stability. Part of the Northern Coastal Area (CD1). The water body has no direct stream inputs or direct sea discharges.

Location

Located in Comacchio, Ferrara province, Emilia Romagna region. The beach extends across coordinates X=12.2514–12.2533°, Y=44.6569–44.6602°. Beach width is 260–270 m.

Facilities

Seven beach establishments are present with first aid services, toilet facilities accessible to disabled persons, hot showers, no architectural barriers, sports facilities, and food service points.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as Excellent (2015–2018 reference years). Escherichia coli measured at 18 CFU/100 mL (90th percentile) and 21 CFU/100 mL (95th percentile). Intestinal enterococci measured at 20 CFU/100 mL (90th percentile) and 24 CFU/100 mL (95th percentile). No direct pollution sources are present in the bathing water area.

Risks

The Canale Logonovo mouth located to the north is subject to continuous flow reversals and collects drainage water from agricultural lands via reclamation channels, potentially causing eutrophication. Macroalgae proliferation (Ulva genus) occurred in July–August 2018 in the central northern coastal stretch, affecting recreational use during biomass accumulation.
