Risks

Potential pollution sources identified: mouths of Torrente Alessi, Fosso Coscia, Fosso Comuni I, and Fosso Comuni II. Accidental treatment plant malfunctions and overflow from treatment plants in Squillace Donnatolla, Squillace Povaromo, and Stalettì Copanello. Cyanobacteria proliferation has not occurred in the past four years. Macroalgae, phytoplankton, and potentially toxic species proliferation has not been recorded in the past four years.
