Marianello is a sandy beach with a gentle slope and typical Mediterranean vegetation in the Licata area of Sicily. The submerged beach has a low gradient and the surrounding terrain slopes steeply toward the shore. The bathing water is classified as Excellent quality.

Coastal marine water in the Sicilia Channel, coast section no. 14, belonging to the Salso river basin. The bathing area extends 3.309 km.

Location

Located in Licata, Agrigento Province, Sicily. The competent authorities are the Municipality of Licata (piazza Progresso, 0922868111) and ASP 1 Agrigento (viale della Vittoria 321, 0922407111). The Capitaneria di Porto is at via Libotti 9, Licata (0922774113).

Facilities

Seasonal summer lifeguard and first aid service. Food and beverage outlet available. No signage prohibiting animal access.

Season

Monitoring and swimming activities occur during summer months.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is Excellent. The area of influence is mixed, with both agricultural and urbanized land. Wastewater treatment data for the collection and treatment network are not available. Depuration facilities do not meet the standards required by Directive 91/271/CE.
