Coastal marine bathing water located on the Atlantic coast of Brittany.

Location

Porspoder, Finistère, France. Coordinates: 48.51133498428°N, 4.7672472816°W. Access is provided via slipways (cales d'accès) to the beach.

Facilities

Access slipways (cales d'accès), waste bins, and information signage are present.

Water Quality

Water quality is monitored bacteriologically by the regional health authority (ARS). Monitoring results from 2011-2021 are documented. The beach is subject to short-term pollution events linked to rainfall and agricultural runoff.

Risks

Sensitivity to green algae blooms (échouages d'algues vertes). Bacterial contamination linked to rainfall events, agricultural pollution sources including manure and slurry spreading, and runoff from collective and non-collective sewerage systems. Jellyfish (méduses) and Portuguese man o'war (Physalies) are occasionally washed ashore.
