Porspoder, Finistère (29), Brittany, France. Coordinates: 48.482198°N, 4.769293°W. Access via northern and southern slipways. Parking and facilities are available near the beach.

Slipway access points (north and south), bins for waste collection and macro-debris, restaurant and facilities nearby, information posting areas.

Water Quality

Water quality is monitored by health authorities (ARS) for bacterial indicators including faecal coliforms and enterococci. Quality varies seasonally and is influenced by rainfall events. Monitoring data from 2011-2022 is available. Multiple potential pollution sources have been identified including agricultural activities, septic systems, and stormwater drainage.

Risks

Sensitivity to green algae blooms. Risk of bacterial contamination during and after rainfall events from agricultural pollution, on-site sanitation systems, and stormwater drainage. Jellyfish and Portuguese man o'war (Physalies) have been recorded washed ashore on the coast.
