During the bathing season, the site experiences average rainfall of 9.4 mm, average air temperature of 27 °C, prevailing northwest wind direction, and approximately 10 daily hours of sunshine.

Grândola municipality. Monitoring point coordinates: Longitude -8.7942°, Latitude 38.12921° (ETRS89 system).

Season

31 May to 28 September 2025. Monthly sampling frequency.

Water Quality

Water quality classification for 2024 complies with Decreto-Lei 135/09. The bathing water is not subject to any negative influence affecting its microbiological quality. No pollution episodes are expected. No days of bathing prohibition or advice against bathing due to short-term pollution occurred during the 2024 bathing season. Short-term pollution risk is unlikely or low.

Risks

Cyanobacteria, macroalgae, and phytoplankton proliferation are all unlikely. An alert system is not implemented due to low pollution risk based on historical water quality data.
