Molo Barchette is a sandy beach of considerable tourist interest located in Pozzallo, Sicily. It is part of a coastal stretch between the mouth of the Torrente Favara and the Port of Pozzallo. The beach is easily accessible and primarily used by residents of the surrounding area. The area has a dry subtropical climate characterized by high summer temperatures and modest winter precipitation.

Water

The water body is part of the Sicilian Channel (Canale di Sicilia), Coastal stretch 17. It belongs to the Scicli basin and smaller basins between Scicli and Capo Passero.

Location

Pozzallo, Sicily (Ragusa Province). The beach is situated between the Torrente Favara estuary and Pozzallo Port. Beach width is 35 metres. The bathing area extends 0.6 km. Coordinates: Y = 36.7279, X = 14.8505.

Facilities

The area is equipped with facilities. Access is free for animals, as there are no municipal ordinances or signs prohibiting entry.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The beach is a free and equipped coastal area. No anomalous situations have occurred in recent years.

Risks

Abundant precipitation can cause overflow of stormwater discharge into bathing waters. White water discharge and overflow from storm drains are identified as potential pollution sources. No cyanobacterial proliferation, macroalgal blooms, or phytoplankton events have been recorded in the past four years.
