Coastal water body (CWA3 - Mountainous terrain, low stability). Water body name: Noli-Bergeggi. Area extension: 1.421 square kilometres. Influenced by river mouths (Rio Laiolo, Rio Maremma, Rio Della Mianda).

Facilities

Private beach facilities with services are present (Lega Navale). Animals are not permitted in the bathing area.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008-2011). No active coastal treatment plants or Imhoff tanks are present in the area. River mouths have been identified as a source of pollution impact. A modelling approach for characterizing short-term pollution events is under development.

Risks

The Ligurian Sea is not characterized by cyanobacterial blooms due to oligotrophic conditions. No cases of toxic algal strain proliferation have been recorded in the past four years.
