The lake is located on the eastern edge of Mondfeld, running parallel to the Main river. The larger western section of the lake is designated as a fishing area. The far eastern section serves nature conservation purposes. The bathing area is marked with floating barriers. Access to the meadow for sunbathing is relatively steep; the shore in the bathing area has sandy banks and slopes gently. No sanitary facilities are available.
