Örby Ängar is a bathing spot located in Öresund consisting of a shallow sandy beach with extensive beach heaths. The beach features a concrete jetty and is situated within Örby natural reserve, which is designated as Natura 2000. Daily water quality can be monitored on Badvatten.se, which provides forecasts for bathing water quality.

Location

Located in southern Helsingborg at Öresund. The bathing area is situated within Örby ängar natural reserve.

Season

21 June 2026 to 20 August 2026.

Water Quality

Water quality classification 2025: Satisfactory. Previous classifications: 2024 Poor, 2023 Poor, 2022 Poor. Elevated bacterial levels were identified in the municipality. Since summer 2017, an increased number of water samples have been taken. A bathing water forecast system was launched before the 2017 season, providing same-day and three-day forecasts based on rainfall and current data, previous year samples, weather forecasts, overflow data, and flow data from NSVA. Research between 2019-2025 (Urban Bathing project) found that bottom sediments can affect water quality as bacteria remain in sediments.

Risks

Elevated bacterial concentrations have been identified. Bottom sediments may influence water quality.
