Otok Sv. Nikola - Plaža Oliva is a cultivated beach located on St. Nicholas Island near Poreč in Croatia. The beach features a predominantly concrete structure with rocky areas and is characterized by a mild coastal slope with moderate underwater gradient. It experiences high bather density during the swimming season and holds Blue Flag certification.

Adriatic Sea. Beach length 370 metres, beach width 40 metres. Average sea temperature during season 24.45°C. Salinity range 34.8–39.2 during season. Tide amplitude 49.3 cm. Convex coast shape with mild coastal slope (less than 15°) and moderate underwater slope (15–25°).

Location

Poreč, on Sv. Nikola Island. Accessible by pedestrian path. No parking available at the beach.

Facilities

Rescuer service, sanitary facility, shower, changing room, restaurant, café bar, playground, bench, trash cans, sea buoys for safety demarcation. Floating safety lines protect the beach front. Boat docking available nearby but outside the beach.

Season

Annual monitoring conducted with sampling from 2009 to 2025. Average sea temperature of 24.45°C indicates seasonal bathing between late spring and early autumn.

Water Quality

Water quality has been monitored annually with 10 sampling occasions per year since 2009. Quality classifications recorded include excellent, good, sufficient, and poor ratings under both Croatian regulation and EU Directive 2006/7/EZ. Four-year assessment periods show consistent monitoring with 40 samples per period.
