Penboc'h Beach is a bathing site in the commune of Arradon. The beach profile was revised in April 2019 to assess water quality and identify pollution sources affecting the bathing area.

Marine water body subject to tidal influences with vive-eau (spring tide) and morte-eau (neap tide) variations.

Location

Arradon commune. The bathing zone is situated on Penboc'h Beach.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified according to Directive 2006/7/CE microbiological standards. Monitoring includes bacteriological analysis and phytoplankton surveillance. Short-term pollution episodes have been recorded and documented by public health authorities (ARS) and self-monitoring (SAUR).

Risks

Potential for short-term bacterial contamination. Sensitivity to phytoplankton proliferation and algal beaching has been identified. Sources of pollution include stormwater discharge and wastewater.
