Pineta Monaco is a bathing water area located in Trebisacce, Calabria, along an articulated coastline. The beach is pebbly with a submarine gradient of 1.3% from the shore to the 5-metre isobat. Underwater sediments have a medium granule size exceeding 2 millimetres. The bathing area extends across 0.821 square kilometres and faces agricultural lands north of the Fosso Capello watercourse.

Location

Trebisacce, Cosenza Province, Calabria region. The bathing area is located in front of agricultural lands north of the Fosso Capello.

Water quality classification is Excellent. The body of water is the Trebisacce Amendolara.

Risks

Rainwater runoff from agricultural areas has been identified as a potential source of short-term pollution. The foce (mouth) of Canale Monaco is identified as a pollution cause. No algal blooms or cyanobacterial proliferation have occurred in the past four years.
