Písník Bakov nad Jizerou is a bathing area near Bakov nad Jizerou, comprising a small water reservoir of 0.015 km² at an elevation of 220 metres. The water body is fed by an underground water flow from the north-northwest, with no surface water inflow or outflow, and lies outside the flood zone of the Jizera River. The bathing area features a grassy shore with a sandy bottom and a beach length of approximately 350 metres.

Small sand-pit reservoir (písník) with a surface area of 0.015 km² and average transparency ranging from 0.3 to 1.1 metres. The water body is fed by an underground water flow system and receives no significant surface water input.

Located near Bakov nad Jizerou in the Central Bohemia region. The bathing area is operated by the City of Bakov nad Jizerou. Parking and basic facilities are available at the site.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as excellent based on microbiological indicators (enterococci and Escherichia coli) monitored by the regional health authority from 2004 to 2024. No swimming bans were issued during this period. Risks associated with cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) have been identified. Elevated chlorophyll levels in the second half of the recreational season may cause increased sensitivity in vulnerable individuals.

Risks

Cyanobacteria blooms are a identified risk, linked primarily to nutrient input from swimmers and increased leaf and alder-willow debris falling into the reservoir. Low water transparency is noted. Internal phosphorus reserves in sediments may contribute to algal growth during summer months.
