Coastal marine water body. The site experiences tidal influences with marnage (tidal range) varying according to tidal coefficient. Current direction and force vary with tidal stage (flood and ebb). Wave orientation is documented.

Langrune-sur-Mer, Normandy, France. Part of the Côte de Nacre (Mother-of-Pearl Coast) bathing area which includes eight beaches managed by the SIA Côte de Nacre and associated communes.

Facilities

Equipped coastal area. Recreational shellfish harvesting (moules and fouisseur coquillages) is permitted in designated zones.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified and monitored by the ARS (health authority). Monitoring tracks enterococci and E. coli concentrations. Results vary seasonally and are influenced by rainfall, tidal coefficients, and wind conditions. Pollution sources have been inventoried and ranked.

Risks

Algae wash-up events occur. Water quality can be affected by rainfall, seawater entry influenced by tidal coefficients, and wind. Pollution sources from outlets and watercourses have been identified and evaluated.
