Camping Pomport Beach is a privately managed 12-hectare campground in Pomport, Dordogne, featuring a private bathing lake with a fine sand beach. The site is traversed by the Gardonnette river and surrounded by natural landscape with trees. The beach measures approximately 19.55 square meters and is cleaned daily. Swimming is unsupervised and restricted exclusively to camping residents.

Water

Private lake situated in the center of the campground near the Gardonnette river. Fishing is permitted on the lake. The lake is bordered by fine sand beach with dimensions of approximately 19.55 square meters at coordinates 44.779 degrees North latitude and 0.419 degrees East longitude.

Location

Located in Pomport, Dordogne, in the urban area of Bergerac, approximately 10 kilometers southwest of Bergerac and 12 kilometers north of Eymet. The campground address is 1736 route du lac, 24240 Pomport. Accessible via departmental roads 14, 16, 16E1, 16E2, and 17.

Facilities

Fine sand beach cleaned daily. Camping amenities include cottages, mobile homes, and lodges with 2-3 bedrooms, plus camping pitches approximately 100 square meters each. No lifeguards. Access restricted to camping residents only.

Season

Monitoring conducted June, July, and August 2024.

Water Quality

Water quality monitoring conducted between June and August 2024 shows predominantly good results. One sample (19 June 2024) rated as medium; four samples rated as good. Escherichia coli and Enterococci levels generally low or absent. No hydrocarbons, foams, or animal presence detected. Water temperatures ranged from 15°C to 29.7°C; air temperatures from 15°C to 36°C.

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified near the site: cooperative cave 2.1 kilometers away (rare occurrence, risk of river discoloration and odor), nearby Sigoulès sewer (very rare), adjacent cattle meadow (very rare), violent storms causing soil leaching into the lake, and acts of vandalism. No closures have occurred since the site opened.
