Playa A Ermida is a maritime bathing zone located in Ponteceso, Coruña, in the region of Galicia, Spain. The beach is 401 metres long and 50 metres wide, composed of sand with moderate wave conditions and medium visitor attendance. It is situated in an isolated area within the Costa da Morte water body, which has been classified as being in good ecological status.

Location

Located in Ponteceso, province of Coruña, Galicia, Spain. Reference locality is O Porto de Corme. Coordinates: UTM 29N, X: 504001, Y: 4790210 (European Datum 1950).

Water Quality

Bathing zone classification: Excellent. E. coli and Enterococcus monitoring data collected from 2008 to 2010 show no historical contamination records. Adjacent shellfish production zone GAL 06/03 (Ría de Corme-Laxe) classified as Zone B with no identified contamination history.

Risks

No short-duration contamination risks identified. No risks from occasional discharges associated with precipitation episodes. No risks from localised discharges identified.
