Water Quality

The water mass is classified as being in poor ecological status. Microbiological monitoring shows E. coli and Enterococcus concentrations with historical data from 2008-2010. No antecedents of contamination were recorded for the bathing zone or the adjacent shellfish production zone GAL 11/02 Enseada de Moaña (classified as Zone B).

Risks

No significant risk of contamination from occasional discharges associated with precipitation events. No localized discharge risks identified.
