In August 2017, swimming was discouraged due to elevated intestinal bacteria concentrations, though levels did not exceed bathing prohibition thresholds. Risk of contamination episodes lasting less than 8 hours is low. Jellyfish proliferation is infrequent; Portuguese man o'war (Physalia physalis) sightings are recorded but primarily as isolated specimens.
