Cala Bassa is a natural bathing beach located on the island of Ibiza in the Balearic Islands. The beach stretches 230 metres in length with a width of 25 metres and features fine sand with a gentle slope. It is a free-access recreational bathing area experiencing high visitor numbers on a daily basis, primarily attracting non-local users.

Natural marine water body with an area of 230 metres by 25 metres. No currents, eddies, or undertow are present.

Location

The beach is located on Ibiza in the municipality of Sant Josep de Sa Talaia in the Balearic Islands. Pedestrian access is good. Vehicle access and parking are both available and in good condition. Disabled access is available and good.

Facilities

Lifeguard services, toilets, showers, disabled access (good), and parking (good) are available.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as excellent for 2020, 2021, and 2022. The 2022–2023 assessment shows good status. Short-duration pollution episodes occurred once in 2022. Accumulation of floating waste is very low. Identified pollution sources include septic tanks and boats, with rainwater runoff as an additional source. No sewage pipes or point discharges are present.

Risks

Occasional jellyfish presence. Phytoplankton and cyanobacteria status unknown.
