Playa del Pinar is an urban beach located in Vinaroz, Castellón, in the Valencian Community of Spain. It is an open cove configuration without defensive structures or rigid promenade. The beach is bounded to the north and south by rocky zones with small cliffs. The shoreline measures 166.5 meters in length with an average width of 17.25 meters, composed of sand and gravel of artificial origin.

Coastal maritime water body. The shoreline is 166.5 meters long with an average width of 17.25 meters. The beach composition is sand and gravel. Water currents flow from south to north. The area is micromareal with a cliff-type coastline. The water mass belongs to the Júcar hydrographic demarcation and is classified as coastal category with very good status.

Located in the municipality of Vinaroz, Castellón province, Valencian Community, Spain. The beach has road access and parking facilities available. It is situated in an urban area with geographic coordinates at UTM 30 ETRS89: 796357 (X), 4488511 (Y).

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as excellent according to the 2006/7/CE Directive. Weekly inspections are conducted during the bathing season evaluating water appearance, water analysis, and sand cleanliness on a scale of excellent, good, sufficient, or insufficient. No direct discharges to the coastline affect water quality. Annual precipitation in the influence zone is 325 mm with the wettest month being April and driest month July.

Risks

Potential short-duration contamination risk factors evaluated at low frequency with mild impact: rainfall, urban sanitation systems, and coastal discharges. Other potential risk factors at low frequency with mild impact: rivers/canals, industrial installations, port facilities, and diffuse pollution. No cyanobacteria proliferation episodes have been detected in the Valencian Community coastal areas. Phytoplankton and jellyfish blooms are natural phenomena more frequent in low-renewal bathing zones but not currently reported for this beach.
