Cala Egos is a bathing beach located in Santanyí, Illes Balears. The beach is 501 metres long and 80 metres wide. The surrounding area includes residential and nautical uses.

Water Quality

Annual classification was insufficient for 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. Water status was good in 2014 and 2017 according to the Hydrological Plan of Illes Balears. Identified pollution sources include two wastewater pumping stations, septic tanks, boat discharges, and rainwater outflows.

Risks

Short-duration contamination episodes (less than 72 hours) were recorded: 3 in 2016, 3 in 2017, 2 in 2018, and 2 in 2019. Exceptional contamination episodes (more than 72 hours) occurred in 2016 and 2017. Jellyfish blooms occur occasionally. No history of toxic phytoplankton or diatom proliferation.
