Cala en Fonoll is a bathing beach located on the island of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands. The beach measures 55 metres in length and 20 metres in width. The water has been classified as excellent in annual quality assessments from 2019 to 2022, and maintains a good status according to the 2022–2023 evaluation.

Water

The bathing area is 55 metres long and 20 metres wide. It belongs to the water body MAMC01M2 (Cala Falcó a Illes Malgrats).

Location

The beach is situated in the municipality of Andratx on Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands. The sampling point is located in the centre of the beach.

Water Quality

The bathing water has been classified as excellent annually from 2019 to 2022. The water status was assessed as good in 2007–2009, 2018–2019, and 2022–2023. No short-duration contamination incidents were recorded in 2019, 2020, 2021, or 2022. No exceptional duration contamination incidents occurred in those years. Floating waste accumulation is classified as very low to low. Identified pollution sources include septic tanks, vessels, and rainwater discharge.

Risks

Occasional jellyfish have been recorded. No history of phytoplankton proliferation or cyanobacteria blooms.
