Cala Ferrera is a natural sandy beach located on the island of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands. The beach stretches 100 meters in length and 67 meters in width with a gentle slope and fine sand substrate. It is a recreational bathing area with high visitor numbers, primarily attracting non-local users on a daily basis. The water has been consistently classified as excellent in annual assessments from 2019 to 2022.

Water

Free-flowing saltwater bathing area. Length 100 meters, width 67 meters. Characterized by gentle slope, fine sand soil, and absence of currents, whirlpools, and undertow. Water mass code: MAMC10M2.

Located in the municipality of Felanitx on the island of Mallorca, Balearic Islands. Pedestrian access is available and in good condition. Vehicle access is available and in good condition. Disabled access is available but in regular condition. No parking is provided.

Annual water quality classification: excellent (2019–2022). Historical quality status: good (2007–2009, 2018–2019, 2022–2023). Short-duration pollution episodes recorded: 1 in 2022. Extended pollution episodes (>72 hours): 1 in 2021. Identified pollution sources include septic tanks, boats, rainwater discharge, and outlets from Punta des Jonc to Cala Figuera.

Risks

Occasional jellyfish presence. No history of phytoplankton or cyanobacteria proliferation. Floating waste accumulation classified as medium (2019), medium (2020), very high (2021), and medium (2022).
