Cala Pi is a natural bathing beach located on the island of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands. The beach spans 45 metres in length and 100 metres in width with fine sand. It is a free-access recreational bathing area with medium visitor attendance, primarily used by non-local users on a daily basis.

Water

The bathing area is a natural free-access water body with no currents, whirlpools, or undertow. The water body is part of the MAMC11M3 water mass (Cala Figuera to Cala Beltran).

Location

Cala Pi is situated in the municipality of Llucmajor on the island of Mallorca. Pedestrian access is available and good. Parking is available but poor quality. Vehicular access is not available. Disabled access is not available.

Facilities

Pedestrian access is available in good condition. A lifeguard facility is referenced as 'punto de control ambiental' (environmental control point). Parking is available but of poor quality.

Water Quality

Annual water quality classification was Excellent for 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. Pollution episodes with short-term duration (under 72 hours) were recorded as zero for all four years, and exceptional episodes (over 72 hours) were zero for all four years. Floating waste accumulation is very low. Water quality was rated Good for 2007–2009 and 2018–2019, and Moderate for 2022–2023. Identified pollution sources include septic tanks, vessels, and storm drains. No point discharges or pipeline systems are present.

Risks

Phytoplankton proliferation occurs occasionally. Jellyfish occur occasionally. Cyanobacteria have no recorded history.
