Playa Caletón Blanco is a 250-metre-long coastal beach in Haría, Lanzarote, with a 40-metre width and white sand substrate. The beach is exposed to waves with calm water conditions and a tidal range of 1–3 metres. The bathing zone is situated in the northern waters of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, in a water body classified in good ecological status.

Water Quality

Water quality classification based on four-year evaluation of Escherichia coli and intestinal Enterococcus levels according to RD 1341/2007. The water mass is in good ecological status (biological and physical-chemical). One identified pollution source: Órzola wastewater treatment plant (EDAR). No previous contamination episodes recorded in the Náyade system.

Risks

Occasional short-duration contamination from rainwater runoff carrying potential contaminants from upstream areas (less than 72 hours duration). Occasional short-duration urban wastewater discharge from pipeline breaks, sewerage network failures, emergency overflows, or unauthorized discharges (less than 72 hours duration). Cyanobacteria proliferation episodes of Trichodesmium recorded in 2004, 2010, and intensively in 2017. No risk from jellyfish or sea urchins. No risk from macroalgae.
