Playa Carracido is a maritime bathing zone located on the Cíes Islands in the Ría de Vigo. The beach extends 513 metres in length with a width of 80 metres and is composed of sand. Bathing conditions are calm with medium visitor density. The beach is situated in an isolated urbanized area.

Water quality classification: Excellent. E. coli and Enterococcus concentrations monitored from 2008 to 2010. No historical contamination precedents recorded for the bathing zone or adjacent shellfish production zone (GAL 11/1 Ría de Vigo - Zone B).

Risks

No short-duration contamination risks identified from occasional discharges associated with precipitation events or from localized discharges.
