Location

The bathing zone is located on the Cíes Islands (Islas Cíes) in the municipality of Vigo, province of Pontevedra, Galicia. The reference locality is Igrexario.

Water Quality

The bathing zone is classified as Excellent. The water mass is in Good ecological status. E. coli concentrations have shown variation across monitoring years (2008–2010), with values ranging from approximately 100 to 1500 UFC/100 ml. Enterococcus concentrations ranged from approximately 200 to 1000 UFC/100 ml during the same monitoring period.

Risks

No contamination risks have been identified. No historical contamination antecedents exist. No short-duration contamination risks from occasional discharges associated with precipitation events have been identified. No localized discharge risks have been identified.
