Playa Concha de Artedo is a coastal bathing beach located in Lamuño, Cudillero, Asturias. The beach is 760 meters long with a width of 55 meters and features golden sand and boulders. The beach experiences moderate wave conditions with a macrotidal range exceeding 4 meters.

Location

Located in Lamuño, municipality of Cudillero, Asturias, Spain. Accessible by road with parking available (fewer than 50 spaces). Good pedestrian access to the beach.

Lifeguards. Showers. Good pedestrian access and road access with limited parking (fewer than 50 spaces).

Water Quality

Water quality classified as Excellent for bathing. All microbiological monitoring results have been excellent. The beach received the Blue Flag designation for 9 consecutive years including 2009, 2010, and 2011. Risk of insufficient water quality is very low.

Risks

The Uncín River discharges into the beach but has minimal influence on bathing water quality. Risk of short-duration contamination from the river is low, caused by runoff and seepage during heavy precipitation, with frequency of approximately biennial and duration under 8 hours. No historical records of algal blooms or cyanobacteria proliferation. Jellyfish occurrences are rare; Portuguese man o'war (Physalia physalis) appears as isolated specimens. Risk of jellyfish proliferation is considered null.
