Playa de la Almardá is a maritime bathing zone located in Sagunto, Valencia, Spain. It features a longitudinal open configuration with small perpendicular breakwaters and a composition of sand and gravel. The beach has an artificial origin and is classified as a low accumulation coast. The beach extends approximately 1534.8 metres along the shore with an average width of 62.1 metres.

Maritime bathing zone in the Júcar hydrographic demarcation. The coastal water mass is classified as coastal category with good environmental status. Microtidal range. Current direction flows from south to north.

Location

Sagunto municipality, Valencia province, Valencian Community, Spain. Bounded to the north by Playa de Corinto and to the south by the municipality of Canet de Berenguer. Accessible by vehicle with parking available. Disabled access facilities are provided.

Facilities

Lifeguard and rescue services available. Free public toilets. Foot showers. Bins and selective waste management. Beach bar/chiringuito. Accessible service point. Lounger, umbrella, and scooter rentals. Buoyed bathing area. Medium bather density during season.

Season

1 June to 15 September.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as Excellent. The beach water body has good environmental status under the Water Framework Directive 2000/60/CE. Weekly inspections are conducted during the bathing season to monitor visual inspection parameters including water appearance, sand cleanliness, and facility maintenance. No direct discharges to the shoreline affect water quality.
